DAY ONE FOUNDATION IN A NUTSHELL, by Denis Jacquet, Founder:

WHY? AI, automation, new business models human-free, and the impact of the current crisis could have a devastating effect on jobs, at every level, with social, human and political consequences. This matter is still insufficiently addressed. We need a live barometer to detect the trends and directions and then act to learn how to help people and companies to adapt.

A short summary note by Denis Jacquet, Founder
Day One Foundation will design the largest and most accurate live job mutation barometer in the world (PHASE 1) , with the help of people and entities willing to leave a legacy and contribute to help the world keeps its balance.

We think that people need jobs. We will collect dispersed data, process it and build strategic prevision tools out of it. It will benefit companies, people and governments. The data will be sorted by industry, job category and filtered through the analysis of the major technology at work. Technology can certainly kill jobs. Technology if guided properly could also create millions of opportunities. Specifically in devastated or disadvantaged area and emerging countries. We want to show how.

Once the barometer is effective and covers a large part of the world, we will move to PHASE 2: Help 1 billion people to adapt in less than 10 years. Upskill the World Initiative. We will sample categories of jobs, and finance initiatives to learn under which conditions they will be able to 1/ adapt to their job 2/ create new jobs or 3/ find/create new activities, in both developed and emerging countries.

We will train 1 million people and transfer the know-how to help companies and governments to apply the methodology to 1 billion people, with the help of the Day One Digital Academy for Upskilling the World.
We need to find the most committed and ambitious people in the world to take on this mission and really change the face of the world on this critical challenge.

Day One Foundation is 1 of the 4 elements of the Day One Movement

DAY ONE Foundation

DAY ONE Clubs
Where large companies, start-up, SMEs and NGOs meet to form a worldwide community
driven by positive impact through innovation.
A community acting and sharing during Day One Events.
A community joining or forming additional work groups

DAY ONE Work Groups
Designed to impact through concrete decisions taken by large companies and implemented within their own organization. Action and Impact
The work groups are managed through the Foundation

DAY ONE Events
Designed to communicate and share, gather and decide.
Our events around the world are an « echo and a preparation chamber » for everything we develop in the Clubs and Work Groups

Why the need for Day1 Foundation?
Timing is key

A FEW THOUGHTS AND QUESTIONS THAT BASE OUR WILL TO ACT FAST:

  • Do we need jobs? Yes. At this stage, yes, definitely.
  • Will we have enough jobs for everyone? We really don’t know.
  • Should we leave it to chances or act before it’s too late?

    Acting, is our trademark.

A panel of 20 Fortune 500 CEOs realize that job mutation is a clear challenge, but mainly unaddressed, by 80% of them.
Most studies show that automation will kill millions of jobs within 5 to 10 years, with automation able to replace up to 90% of human daily acts (Mac Kinsey, Accenture, Oxford…).

Recent studies show that investors finance business models where « human held jobs » are not the norm any more. This trend has become even stronger since the Covid-19 crisis. The pace is getting faster. Still, we don’t anticipate enough.

DAY ONE MOVEMENT INITIATIVE MEETS THE CHALLENGE:

Create the largest « job and skills » barometer in the world to provide guidance and strategic tools for governments and companies.

Help them to design a plan to coach, support, train, up and reskill people through these transformations.

We will provide studies, real time figures, that will reveal trends, patterns and real impact. It will guide their human, digital, investment strategy.

Day One Foundation will also show options and solutions on how Technologies could revive deserted territories, and provide great opportunities to emerging countries.

We will progressively cover European, American, African and Asian countries, and sort our analysis by industry, and technology
